AT LAST THE CAT COMES OUT OF THE BAG


The police arrested a pickup van owner who is alleged to transport men who damaged rail tracks which lead to the derailment of Gyaneshwari Express on May 28.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal Police from Kharagpur in West Midnapore nabbed up Khagen Mahato. Mahato is a resident of Chanapara village and he confessed that his van was being used by workers of the pro-Maoist tribal body called People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCAPA) as reported by a CID official.

The Mumbai-bound Gyaneshwari Express which was coming from Howrah overturned around 1:30 a.m. and the coaches dropped over other tracks which were rammed by another goods train killing 148 people.
