Jhargram, May 28 : Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today strongly condemned the senseless killing in Gyaneshwari Express accident and expressed condolences to the breaved families.
Speaking to newspersons after reaching the accident site from Kolkata, the Union Minister said though it was not yet clear who or which organisation was actually behind the horrific incident, all suspicion pointed towards Maoists.
Also describing the incident as 'most unfortunate', he said whoever might be behind such act must be condemned.
At least 65 passengers were killed and more than 200 injured in the accident near Jhargram early today.A massive rescue and relief operation had since been launched by the Army as well as the Railway and civic authorities.
